Empowering Lives, Role by Role, Memory by Memory
The Pesso Boyden System Psychomotor (PBSP) method is based on the theory that our sensory experiences in childhood significantly shape our adult perspectives. Many people do not receive ideal emotional nurturing as children, which can impact their ability to cope effectively as adults. Imagine if you could revisit those moments and address the emotional deficits you experienced as a child—this is the goal of PBSP.
PBSP does not attempt to rewrite history but uses role-play to provide clients with the somatic experience of an ideal environment that fulfils their basic needs during moments of deficit in their past. It is an interactive, body-based group therapy that helps clients recreate past experiences and compensate for emotional deficits. Developed in the early 1960s, PBSP has been safely and effectively used by therapists in eleven countries for over forty years.
Through role-playing, PBSP helps create new memories by offering ideal emotional interactions that clients may have missed out on in real life. It serves as a powerful tool for personal growth and healing.
